The Raiders seized their fifth straight win Wednesday night as they beat rival Ursuline High School 61-56.
"Ursuline is like the New York Yankees or Dallas Cowboys of girls' high school basketball," said Raiders coach Luke Vaccaro. "So last night was a great win."
Though there were some shaky moments that almost cost Scarsdale the win -including a few painful turnovers in the fourth quarter - they put up a strong front, maintaining a lead throughout the entire game.

The Raiders' top three players all put up stellar stats. Junior center Hayley Kanner notched 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, while senior guard Danielle Feigin added 18 points and four assists. Senior forward Chelsea LoBue recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists.
"Rebounding isn't usually our strength," said Vaccaro. "But [Wednesday] it was. As a coach, you love to see games like this; we just had a good cohesive effort all around."

Scarsdale won despite the loss of sophomore guard Bebe Silberzweig, who jammed her knee in the second quarter and hobbled off the court. Although x-rays still need to be administered, all signs point to a torn ACL, which would take Silberzweig out for the rest of the season.
"Bebe is one of the most improved players on our team from last year to now," Vaccaro said. "It'd be a huge blow if we lost her."
The backcourt stayed tough nonetheless, with Feigin putting up a definitive fastbreak play toward the end of the game that earned her an easy bucket and a trip to the line, where she completed the three-point play.
Scarsdale's bench also contributed some key plays. Francesca Tatti, Shelby Zucker, and Hannah Kaitz added a combined eight points that helped the Raiders secure their win.
"We had some turnovers, and we need to work on our passing and catching," Vaccaro said. "And sometimes we let opponents penetrate too easily. But this was a great game."
The Raiders are currently 7-2.
