Jewel Thief Strikes Park Road Residence
A bracelet and diamond necklace were reported missing in what appears to be Scarsdale's first home burglary of 2012.

$4,500 worth of jewelry items were stolen from a Park Road home on Dec. 31 as residents celebrated the pending New Year.
According to police reports, the complainants had gone to dinner around 7:30 p.m. and returned less than an hour after midnight to find a disheveled master bedroom. Police responded and discovered the home's rear sliding glass door to have been smashed, along with a disabled outside motion sensor.
The perpetrator had rummaged through two upstairs bedrooms, as well as the master bedroom's two walk-in closets. Drawers were found open with their contents scattered about the bedroom floor.

The homeowners completed an inventory of missing items, which included a gold necklace with 2.5 carats of diamonds valued at $3,000 and a gold and silver David Yurman rope bracelet worth $1,500.
Police canvassed the area and spoke to neighbors, none whom had observed any suspicious behavior.
