Last Chance: Spring Break Baseball Fun At The Scarsdale Library Tonight

The Rockland Boulders are holding a presentation and workshop for kids at 6:30 p.m. Don't miss the chance to meet the players and get some tips!

The following is an announcement from the Scarsdale Public Library about tonight's "Take Me Out to the Library" event:

and the Rockland Boulders are teaming up to get kids ready for the upcoming baseball season. Boulders players Bobby Blevins, Norm Hutchins and team mascot Boulder Bird will be at the Scarsdale Public Library from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. tonight.

The program is designed for kids to meet the Boulders players and learn about how hard work and determination can make dreams come true. Blevins and Hutchins will give a brief presentation about Rockland Boulders organization and what it takes to become a member of the team.

“We are excited to get to know the kids in our community,” said Blevins. “I know what it’s like to be a kid and dream of being a professional baseball player. Now that I am, I want to give back to the next generation of aspiring athletes.”

Following the presentation, Blevins, Hutchins and Boulder Bird will show kids how to get ready for their own season by doing light exercises, going over stretching methods and working on proper batting stance techniques. Parents and kids wishing to get autographs and photos with the players and Boulder Bird can do so following the program. 

“Baseball season is right around the corner,” said Hutchins.  “As members of the community, we are happy to help young players achieve their goals.”
