Man Accused of Stabbing Wife in Shower to Present Psychiatric Defense

Police said Julius Reich ambushed his wife while she was in the shower and stabbed her 22 times.

Scarsdale, NY — Attorneys for the Scarsdale man who is accused of murdering his wife last year are said to be preparing a psychiatric defense.

The Journal News reported that Julius Reich’s attorneys said in court Tuesday that psychiatric evidence, including a psychiatric examination of the accused, will be offered in court.

Reich, 62, faces a second-degree murder charge and a weapon-possession charge.

Police said he killed his wife, Dr. Robin Goldman, 58, by stabbing her 22 times after he ambushed her in the shower January 20, 2016.

Goldman was a pediatrician in the Montefiore Health System.

Reich, a financial adviser, pled not guilty to the charges March 8.
