A bank manager who identified herself by first name only, would not confirm what had occurred yesterday when contacted. The manager told Scarsdale Patch, "No comment," when asked to elaborate on the specifics of an early wire report.
The teller told police a customer had tried to pass a fraudulent check, and had attempted to cash a check for the sum of $4,500.00. According to the department's press release:

The teller became suspicious when it was learned that the customer had opened an account earlier in the day at another TD North Branch in the Bronx with a minimal balance that would not cover the amount designated in the check which was presented. Bank employees managed to stall the transaction and notified the police
Foster became nervous and quickly exited the bank, according to the report, where a Police Officer Erika Daniels confronted him.
Foster fled on foot, but was apprehended by Officer Daniels and Good Samaritan Dante Gonzalez, who is a resident of the Bronx and helped to subdue Foster.
Officer Daniels broke her leg as a result of the struggle and was transported to the Westchester Medical Center, treated, and released.
Foster is now being held in Westchester County Jail, Valhalla, New York and is due back in Greenburgh Court on June 1, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.
