Officer On Burglary Patrol Arrests Suspect Fleeing Poast Road Property

The following report was provided by the Scarsdale Police Department.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012 at approximately 7:53 p.m. a Scarsdale police officer conducting targeted burglary patrol in the Green Acres section of the village observed a male fleeing a Post Road Property.

The police officer, Joseph Serio, stopped the individual for questioning and determined that the male had just committed a burglary at the Post Road residence he was fleeing. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the occupied residence through a window and removed jewelry from a second-floor bedroom.

The suspect, 23-year-old Jose Vidal-Serrano of 205 West Post Road in White Plains, was arrested and charged with burglary second degree, possession of burglar's tools, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

Serrano was arraigned in Scarsdale Justice Court by Judge John Galloway and released on his own recognizance for a May 2, 2012 court date.
