Oliverio One of Many Scarsdale Athletes Honored at Dinner
The senior ice hockey star was also named all-section.

The brightest, best and most determined of Scarsdale's high school athletes gathered honored Thursday night at the Maroon and White Dinner – a regular event staged by the school's booster club that honors players for both performance and sportsmanship.
The dinner was hosted and catered at the the Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester and focused on the stars of the 2009-2010 winter sports season.
Matt Oliverio, a standout player on the school's hockey team, said that earning one of the sport's highest honors — being selected for the first time to the all-section team – made his challenging season all worth it.

"It's awesome," Oliverio said. "Especially playing on a team that didn't do too well, it really shows that a lot of coaches have respect for me and that means a lot. It also shows that kids that don't play on the best team in the section can still be very talented hockey players."
Four athletes made all-section and four athletes advanced to the state tournament in individual events this winter for Scarsdale.
