Parents Get a Break This Summer: Tech Camp Goes 100% Online

Home to creative and tech savvy kids for the last 8 years, The Digital Arts Experience gears up for an amazing summer experience -- online!

Families are home and every day trying to adapt with no real sense of what the future holds. To say it’s a challenge would be an incredible understatement. Trying to keep up routines, keep the kids busy, work, and maintain mental and physical health is of the utmost importance.

This is why Digital Arts Experience, physically based in Scarsdale, is in a unique position to help. Since 2012 they have been a staple summer program in the Westchester community, hosting award winning STEAM summer camps with an emphasis on creative technology. Their camp has been home to creative and tech savvy kids for the last 8 years. But this year, things are different. The DAE team has been working tirelessly to build out a digital infrastructure while deploying creativity and determination to offer an experience that meets the needs of parents in this new and strange time. Given the unknown future, The Digital Arts Experience is gearing up to bring their fantastic summer experience online through virtual camps, workshops, and collaborative gaming sessions.

“Offering the same class content, small student teacher ratios, and focusing on creating a highly social experience, The DAE’s online programs aim to provide the in-person experience that The Westchester Community knows and loves -- totally online,” states Founder and President Rob Kissner. “Since our physical location in Scarsdale remains closed for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 situation, we’ve been experimenting with and refining our online class experience, and it’s exciting.”

Naturally, parents will have questions and concerns about online summer camp, and The DAE is prepared and excited to demonstrate their online experience through digital open houses throughout the month of June. Parents will be able to meet with DAE instructors and the leadership team, preview the software and projects that kids will explore over the summer, and ask questions from the safety and comfort of their homes. The DAE will also be offering a free class setup consultation to make sure families have everything they need so that students will be prepared for a great summer.

Technology can't replace human connection. But right now, it can strengthen it.
