Post Office Holding Hudson Valley Hiring Event

HARTSDALE, NY — The post office is looking for people who want to work helping deliver the mail. Westchester postal officials are hosting a hiring event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. It will be held in the lobby of the Hartsdale Post Office, 441 Central Park Avenue.
Postal human resources professionals will be there sharing hiring tips and showing job seekers how to apply for positions such as city carrier assistant, whose job responsibilities include delivering and collecting mail on foot or by vehicle under varying road and weather conditions.
Salary for a city carrier assistant is $16.78 per hour paid bi-weekly, with variable work hours and work days, including holidays and weekends.

Start time is flexible and successful applicants must be available when called to report to work.

Employment requirement include the following:
- 18 years old at the time of appointment or 16 years old with a high school diploma,
- United States citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. territory,
- Must possess a current valid state driving license and a safe driving record,
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pound packages,
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment
- Registered with the Selective Service, if applicable.
