The power of Library Programs

In early October, Stephanie Calafat joined a Mozzarella Workshop at the Scarsdale Public Library, led by former Coals Pizza owner turned librarian, Bill Etzel. Little did she know, it would be an unforgettable night! Just hours after attending the workshop, Stephanie’s contractions started, and before she knew it, her daughter was on the way.

Library staff were thrilled to hear the news. “This just shows how library programs bring people together in unexpected ways! Congratulations to this beautiful family,” one staff member shared.

Mom, dad, and baby are all doing wonderfully. The library can’t wait to welcome Leyla to future programs. And here’s a fun twist—Stephanie had strong mozzarella cravings during her first trimester!
