Scarsdale Alumnus Jared Kasner Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Urban Gardening Company

A year ago, Scarsdale High School alumnus Jared Kasner started an urban gardening company called Aqualibrium with two of his colleagues. Last Monday, the company launched a kickstarter campaign to raise money for Aqualibrium’s newest product, the Aqualibrium Garden. In the past week, the company has raised over $45,000 and was featured on the front of kickstarter’s website.

The Aqualibrium Garden is a closed-loop ecosystem with a self-cleaning aquarium at the bottom and more than two square feet of grow space on top. The fish in the aquarium in the bottom chamber of the garden provide the nutrients that feed the plants in the self-watering grow space in the upper chamber.

The Aqualibrium Garden is currently available on kickstarter for $300. For more information on the product and a video about the company and its story, check out the kickstarter campaign here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1414985420/the-aqualibrium-garden-the-future-of-food
