Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner said he is looking for a site with the town where food waste can be composted. At present, food waste is shipped to Connecticut from Westchester locations.

“If everyone would compost their food waste, it would be great for the environment,” he said, “and we would cut down on our sanitation budget.”

The Greenburgh Nature Center is located at 99 Dromore Rd in Scarsdale.
