Scarsdale Doctor Vanishes, Car Found in Bronx

Scarsdale endocrinologist disappeared mysteriously on Sunday – today police recovered her vehicle in the Bronx.

Mona Shimshi, a 55-year-old Scarsdale doctor, disappeared on Sunday and her husband told police he thinks she might be dead, reports say.

Shimshi's husband, Mark Greenberg, 61, told police he received a text message from her cell phone – just after she left the couple's Tudor home on Carthage Road on Sunday afternoon.

Police recovered her vehicle, a gray 2008 Honda CRV on Monday morning parked down the road from a police shooting range on City Island in the Bronx. According to the New York Post, police are searching the waterways, and the woman's husband received only a text message from her saying, "Goodbye."

Scarsdale Police are pursuing the matter as a missing persons' file.
