Scarsdale Police Charge Yonkers Man In $15K Harwood Court Jewelry Theft
Detectives trace suspect through license plates; police say Donald Jones linked to thefts in Eastchester, Pleasantvile, Tarrytown and Bronxville.

Scarsdale police have arrested a man who is accused of stealing two diamond rings from a Harwood Court jewelry store last October.
Donald Jones, 52, of Yonkers will be charged with grand larceny.
According to police reports, Jones entered Sam Lehr Jewelry Store and requested to view two diamond rings. Jones fled the store with the jewelry, valued at $15,000,

A police officer on scene observed Jones's escape and was able to note his description, vehicle model and license plate. Detectives traced the plate to its original owner, who reported it as stolen, and linked the theft to Jones.
Jones is also linked to series of jewelry store robberies in Eastchester, Pleasantville, Tarrytown and Bronxville, according to police, noting he has been charged, or will be charged, with grand larceny in these thefts.
