Scarsdale Police Arrest New Rochelle Man After Alleged Hit And Run Accident

After an initial investigation, arrested a New Rochelle resident believed to be involved in a hit and run last week.

On May 16, police arrested the New Rochelle man and charged him with: operator leaving the scene of property damage at an accident (an infraction) and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a second offense, (a misdemeanor.)

According to a police report, the New Rochelle man, driving a Lexus on May 12 at about 12:48 a.m. on East Parkway, struck the victim's car from behind, causing damage.

The victim told police the driver of the Lexus exited his car, then left the scene.

Police said at the time of the accident, the New Rochelle driver had a suspended license.

The Rolling Way resident was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Court on May 23.
