Scarsdale Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Missing Animals, New Year's Mischief

Monday, Dec. 26
12:13 a.m. — A female resident at Westchester ARC Care Service Group Home was reported dead on arrival after police received calls stating that she'd had difficulty breathing.

2:51 p.m. — A mentally disabled Westchester ARC resident was found to be the victim of identity theft after the center's resident manager reported to police that he had received credit card application notifications from Bank of America and Capitol One Bank. Several unauthorized transactions were noted, included a charge at the White Plains Walmart worth $215.67 and another at a Subway in Mount Vernon for $13.62. Police contacted the appropriate credit card companies and noted them of the theft.

6:18 p.m. — A Cayuga Road resident reported to dispatch to report an ongoing series of harassing phone calls and threats of physical assault from a former business contact.
Friday, Dec. 30
3:28 a.m. — A caller reported a group of youths in a dark-colored SUV stealing the street sign for Wayside Lane and Carstensen Road. Police arrived on scene and noted the sign to be missing. A motorist corraborated the caller's reports.
10:13 a.m. — A Murray Hill Road resident reported his nanny and children missing to Scarsdale Police. He later called back to say that he'd located them, and that all was in order.
1:06 p.m. — A Good Samaritan reported that she'd found an 8-gigabyte iPod Touch under a bush along the sidewalk bordering Autenreith and Popham roads. Police examined the item's condition and determined it to be garbage before disposing it as such.
10:42 p.m. — A Shawnee Road homeowner called police after an individual rang his doorbell and placed a bag of flaming dog feces on his front stoop.
Sunday, Jan. 1
12:24 a.m. — A driver reported that an unruly group of youths had swarmed her car, striking the vehicle with their fists as she drove down Park Road. Police responded to the scene and spoke to the adolescents, who stated that they were waiting to be picked up by their parents or an incoming taxi. All was found in good order.
12:57 a.m. — A caller reported a possible dispute between a male and female on Post and Burgess roads. Police arrived and spoke to the individuals, who stated that they had not been arguing and were awaiting a taxi following a party.
2:51 a.m. — A concerned Greenburgh mother reported that her daughter had not returned home. The caller thought that the subject, an 18-year-old female clad in gold shoes and a leopard-print jacket, may have gotten off at the Scarsdale train station. Greenburgh police later reported that they had located the girl. No further assistance was needed.
3:01 p.m. — Illinois police contacted Scarsdale dispatch after receiving a tip that a missing female from their jurisdiction might be located on Crawford Lane and Saxon Woods road. The subject was reportedly in possible need of medical attention and accompanied by her two 4-year-old daughters. Scarsdale police canvassed the area with no results. The missing subject was later reported to be in New York City.
5:28 p.m. — An off-duty officer witnessed a hit-and-run accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway and followed the vehicle onto Mamaroneck Road. Police did not located the vehicle, which was later stopped in Mamaroneck.
11:39 p.m. — A Gorham Road caller reported loud youths outside his residence.
Monday, Jan. 2
11:59 a.m. — A caller reported that small animals may have been stolen from the Weinberg Nature Center on 455 Mamaroneck Road.
11:18 p.m. — A Greenacres resident reported that an unknown male was repeatedly ringing his doorbell. Police arrived and identified the individual as a White Plains resident who was lost and needed assistance returning home.
11:47 p.m. — An Edgewood Road resident reported missing jewelry items, which she later advised police she found.
