Scarsdale Police Blotter: Larceny, Dog Bite and Car Break-ins

Tuesday, Dec. 20

11:00 a.m. – A report was received that property was stolen from a storage area on Chateaux Circle.

11:15 a.m. − A Colonial RD. resident reported the presence of a suspicious SUV parked in front of his home. After about 10 mins, the vehicle backed into the garage located directly across the street and left the area. A patrol car was sent to the area; however, the vehicle in question was no longer at the scene.

11:49 a.m. – A smash and grab was reported at the at 50 Olmsted Rd.

12:48 a.m. – A call was made to the station regarding a potentially hazardous driving condition at the intersection of Greendale and Fairview Roads. A check of the location by a patrol car revealed that shrubs were obstructing vehicular traffic. Scarsdale Village Building Dept. was notified. The incident will be transferred to the Dept. of Engineering.

3:16 p.m. – A street sign was removed from a location on Lyons Rd. and Boulevard, and placed in Davis Park. The sign was placed on the side of the road to be retrieved by a police aide. The Dept. of Highways was notified.

4:31 p.m. – A call was placed reporting a downed wire in front of a location on Colvin Rd. A patrol arrived. It was determined that the wire in question was a telephone wire. The wire was moved to the sidewalk. A call was made to Verizon.

10:19 p.m. – A resident of Jefferson Rd., who was away on vacation, reported that his neighbor contacted him to inform him that an unauthorized, unoccupied vehicle was parked in his driveway. Following a check of the area by patrols, which included discussions with neighbors, a summons was placed on the vehicle for blocking the driveway. Extra ride-bys were requested.

Wednesday, Dec 21

1:20 & 1:28 a.m. – Two vehicles were broken into at an Eton Rd. location.

8:00 a.m. – A Montrose Rd. resident reported that her car was broken into overnight.

8:41 a.m. –Two vehicles were involved in a minor accident while parked in the Wilgrin parking lot at 20 Palmer Ave. The door of one vehicle was scratched when the door of another vehicle was opened. No injuries were sustained by either driver. 

9:54 a.m. – A call was received of a downed wire in the driveway of a home on Colvin Rd. The wire in question was a telephone cable. The resident was instructed to contact the telephone company for repairs.

10:15 a.m. – A man walked into the SPD to report an incident of harassment which was alleged to have occurred at his workplace on Greenacres Ave.

3:46 p.m. – A call was made to report a worker who was alleged to have created a disturbance at a worksite of the caller on Greenacres Ave.

7:40 p.m. – A Walworth Ave. resident received a bite on the leg by a dog. Following the incident, the dog was restrained.

9:40 p.m. — County Fire Patrol and Scarsdale police assisted a 62-year-old male who was having difficulty breathing. The gentleman was transported to White Plains Hospital Emergency Room.

9:47 p.m. – A representative of West-Ex reported that water from a broken pipe at 1 Chase Ave. was the cause of water leaking into the basement at 119 E. Hartsdale Ave.

10:40 p.m. – A caller was concerned that a relative did not receive a check she was expecting. Contact was made with the relative in question. She was unaware of her relatives attempt to contact her.

11:33 p.m. – A Heathcote Road resident reported hearing a noise in the driveway of his home. A vehicle was observed in the driveway with its lights on. The vehicle turned in the driveway and left. Patrols monitored the location throughout the remainder of the evening.
