Scarsdale Police Blotter: Sick Animals, Phone Harassment and Pedestrian Struck by Car
This past week in Scarsdale, callers reported potentially sick animals running down roads, a complainant arrived at police headquarters to report harassing calls and emails and a pedestrian was struck by a car.

Wednesday, Feb. 9
9:53 a.m.— A caller complained to police that construction vehicles on 16 Lebanon Road were making mud trails. Police arrived and spoke to workers at location, who promised to clean the roadway. A warning was issued.
9:59 a.m.— Hazardous driving conditions were reported at 5 Overlook and 27 Whig roads after a caller reported cars parked on both sides of the road, obstructing both lanes. Police arrived, and issued summonses after observing numerous parking violations.

10:22 a.m.— Patrol reported to 22 Hampton and 17 Whig roads in response to a report that a food truck was blocking traffic. Police did not observe any food truck blocking vehicles at the location.
10:51 a.m.— A coyote was spotted traveling north on Brite Avenue. Police perused the surrounding vicinity, but did not find the animal.

10:54 a.m.— A caller complained about dog barks emanating regularly from a Stonehouse Road residence. Police told the complainant to call patrol at the time of occurrence. An officer attempted to contact the dog’s owner to no avail.
12:35 p.m.— A pedestrian was injured in a car accident on 40 East Parkway and 1 Christie Place.
4:21 p.m.— A red 2002 Dodge Caravan and a gray 2010 Acura collided on Brewster and Fenimore roads. An accident report was filed after both drivers exchanged operator and vehicle information on scene.
6:48 p.m.— An Overlook resident called police to report a male and female carrying a large plastic box – behavior which she viewed as suspicious. Police showed up and spoke to the pedestrians, who had a valid permit to solicit the area for the New York Youth Corporation.
7:42 p.m.— An anonymous, orange coat-clad female in her 70s was seen ringing a doorbell on Mamaroneck Road. Police canvassed the area with negative results.
Friday, Feb. 11
12:10 p.m.— A caller was involved in a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at 1 Weaver Street and 1 Palmer Ave.
12:55 p.m.— A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in front of Depot Cleaners on 7 Depot Place.
1:52 p.m.— A complainant reported that $600 was removed from her checking account by an unknown person without authorization.
Saturday, Feb. 12
7:42 a.m.— A possibly sick raccoon was seen walking in the street between 42 Wayside Lane and 22 Carstensen Road. Police did not find the animal.
3:44 p.m.— A New York license plate was turned in after it was found in the street between 1 Palmer Ave. and 300 Heathcote Road. Police located the owner and returned the plate.
3:47 p.m.— An offense report was filled out by a complainant who arrived at dispatch to report harassing telephone calls and emails.
Sunday, Feb. 13
10:26 a.m.— A red fox was seen running on Secor Road. The reporting caller was concerned that it may be ill, but police advised him that running is normal behavior for a fox, although it is abnormal for one to be searching for food during the daylight hours.
1:29 p.m.— A Village resident arrived at dispatch to surrender a firearm for safekeeping. An incident report was filed.
8:36 p.m.— A complainant arrived at Dispatch to advise that he would be attempting to repossess a vehicle from a Dell Road resident. The resident advised him that the car was not available for repossession at the moment.
9:52 p.m.— A vehicle was parked in front of a Cooper Road residence with the engine running for fifteen minutes before the homeowner called the police to request a patrol check. Police arrived and spoke with several females exiting an adult “BINGO” party, who stated that they were running the vehicle to heat up the engine.
