Scarsdale Police Log: Stolen Copper and Identity Theft

arrested a White Plains man on a bench warrant. Police arrested Jose Manuel Vidal-Serrano, 23, after not appearing at Scarsdale Justice Court for a court appearance. He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail until May 9.

Scarsdale Police are searching for an alleged copper thief after copper wire was stolen from a construction site on Manor Lane. The copper wire consisted of five different coils, 70 feet-long each, according to the police report.

A Black Birch Lane resident reported that someone had attempted to transfer $5,000 from her Chase bank account to an unknown account in New Jersey. Someone made an additional attempt on May 1 to transfer $2,000 to another Chase account. The bank's security department is looking into the incidents.
May 6
Police responded to a report of a petite larceny on Cornell Street. A resident reported that his mailbox, valued at $500, was stolen. The mailbox had been "removed from the base by an unknown and unauthorized individual." Police are investigating.
