Scarsdale Police Log: Identity Thefts and Car Break-In

May 7
A Scarsdale woman was the victim of an alleged ID theft. The victim told she had $440 in unauthorized checks written from her Wells Fargo account.

A Greendale Road resident had her car broken into while parked at the Middle School. According to a police report, the alleged victim's car was parked at the middle school's rear lot. She had her purse on the back seat and the alleged thief broke the rear, driver's side window and stole the purse. The alleged thief stole $400 in cash, her license, credit cards, ATM cards, $150 pair of Adidas sunglasses and another pair worth $50 and her house and vehicle keys, according to the report.

A Scarsdale resident reported to police that he was the victim of identity theft. The man told police he had two unauthorized accounts opened in his name, one at Home Depot and one JC Penny. An unknown individual also tried to have a Bank of America card FedEx'd. The companies' fraud departments are investigating.
May 10
Police are investigating another case of identity theft. A Scarsdale woman told police she had two charges made to her Chase account that were unauthorized. One was for an unknown amount at a toupee store online and the second for $400 in Dell products online.
May 11
Police arrested a Scarsdale woman on an arrest warrant for criminal contempt in the second degree. The warrant stems from an incident on April 14 for violating an active order of protection, according to the police report. The defendant voluntarily surrendered herself on the outstanding warrant.
