Scarsdale Police Log: Jewelry Thefts, Unruly Driver

A Bronxville woman reported to on May 29 that her $25,000, 2.9 carat platinum diamond ring was stolen. The former Scarsdale resident told police that she last saw the ring in her prior residence on Rock Creek Lane. The alleged victim told police the ring was left at the Scarsdale home while she was in the process of moving. She said she realized the ring was missing on May 17, according to the SPD report.

A Scarsdale couple reported to police that their nanny stole several items from their home–which they caught on camera. On MAY 30, The Oak Way residents reported to SPD that their former nanny/household assistant was caught on hidden camera stealing a suitcase worth $100, $120 in cash from a wallet, a $1,500 platinum wedding ring and a sterling silver comb and brush set, according to the SPD report.

On May 31, an unhappy driver received a parking ticket and took out her frustrations on a Scarsdale Police officer. According to a SPD report, the driver exited the vehicle, and told police, "'don't you have robbers and murderers to catch?'" She yelled at police, refusing to stay in her vehicle. SPD was able to restore peace and send the driver on her way.
