
The Scarsdale Woman's Club, 37 Drake Road, Scarsdale, is run by volunteers from 28 communities who are engaged in a variety of educational, social, and philanthropic activities. The club’s home is a 19th-century manor house, Rowsley, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is available for event rentals.
The Scarsdale Woman’s Club was incorporated on Dec. 23, 1918. It is celebrating its centennial with special events open to the public and a discounted membership of $100 to join. This special rate covers all dues thru March 31, 2019.
In March, a well-attended ragtime concert by pianist/lecturer Dr. Peter Muir kicked off the centennial celebration.

Families are invited to a free Country Fair at the club on Sunday, June 10, from 1-4 p.m. The fair will feature master storyteller Jonathan Kruk, a balloon and bubble artist, face painting, mural painting, a scavenger hunt and croquet.
Finally, a Gala Centennial Cocktail Party for club members and their guests will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Throughout the year, a centennial exhibit is open in the club’s Bethell Room on Wednesday afternoons.
On Wednesday afternoons, the club sponsors programs open to the public at no charge, followed by a reception in the club’s formal dining room. Every week club members enjoy additional lectures and activities on art, community affairs, education, food and dining, health, home and garden, literature, music, travel and world cultures and travel, personal investing and pottery.
Those who cannot attend afternoon programs enjoy the club’s new Good Morning Section at 10 a.m. and/or Programs at Seven at 7 p.m.
Members volunteer in a White Plains thrift shop and the club holds tag sales in April and October during the year. Money raised is donated to more than 20 charities, mostly those supporting women and children.
