
Arielle Simone Harris, a graduate of Scarsdale High School, was one of 296 members of Haverford College’s class of 2013. According to a release from the college, Harris received a bachelor’s degree in French and growth and structure of cities from Bryn Mawr College on May 19th.
Harris’ senior thesis, the culmination of the Haverford academic experience, is entitled, “Hésiter: Une analyse structurelle du réel et du merveilleux dans les Lais de Marie de France,” for French, and, “Federal Tax Incentives: Public-Private Dichotomies and Preserving Neighborhood Image and Identity in Philadelphia,” for growth and structure of cities.
Harris was a peer advisor at Haverford, as well as a tutor in the French department. Also, she was a teaching assistant in the environmental studies department. Harris studied in France during her junior year, and among her activities, she was a member of the Haverford a cappella group, the Oxford Blues.
Haverford College is a liberal arts college with 1,200 students. Founded in 1833, the school is located just outside Philadelphia.
