Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Westchester County

For the second day in a row, the National Weather Service issued a watch for the afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Westchester County until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, marking the second day in a row for such an alert.

In northern Westchester County communities, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued, with the possibility of quarter-sized hail and ”damaging” winds up to 60 miles per hour.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL... DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION...MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
