Updated: Scarsdale Police Arrest White Plains Man For Easter Sunday Robberies, Assault

Police made the arrest Sunday afternoon after a pursuit.

One alleged thief did not let the holiday stop him from an afternoon crime spree in Scarsdale.

Edwardo Mendoza Zepeda, 48, of 86 East Post Road in White Plains, was arrested April 8.  He was charged with multiple counts of Burglary 1st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree, Attempted Assault, Menacing, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest, according to a statement from Scarsdale Police Chief John A. Brogan.

At 2:30 p.m., police said a 25-year-old female went to the Scarsdale Police Headquarters and reported being "menaced and assaulted by a male on
Greenacres Avenue who threatened her and attempted to enter her vehicles," Brogan stated.

Just 20 minutes later, a Brite Avenue resident called Scarsdale Police and reported that "he had been robbed by a male who just fled the scene," the chief said. "While patrol officers were checking the area for the suspect in the Brite Avenue robbery/burglary, a Post Road resident called HQ to report that they had just been robbed by a male who fled the scene."

Scarsdale Police officers along with a canine unit from the New Rochelle Police
Department searched the scene for the victim, who was subsequently caught at a Mamaroneck Road residence, he said.

"Scarsdale Police Officers engaged in a foot pursuit with the suspect and captured and arrested the suspect," the police chief said.

More charges are expected to be filed and more information will be available tomorrow, he said.
