Noam Bramson for County Executive – Noam has the executive experience we need in a County Executive. As Mayor of New Rochelle he has championed “smart growth” for New Rochelle and has revitalized the downtown corridor. He will have the county develop a coherent plan to strengthen our economy and protect our environment. . Noam Bramson wants to rejoin the Mid Hudson Valley Planning Group and have input into the mid Hudson sustainability plan which Astorino dropped out of. We should be investing in mass transit with buses going across the Tappan Zee Bridge and along the 287 corridor to help unlock the economic potential of Westchester County. He wants to stop borrowing money to pay for current expenses which is what Astorino did to balance the budget i.e. tax certiorari and pension funds. This is exactly what N.Y.C. did in the 1970’s that brought on the Financial Review Board which oversaw N.Y.C.’s budgets for five years. Bramson is pro-choice while Astorino is anti-choice. Astorino vetoed legislation that protected women from harassment and intimidation when entering reproductive health centers, putting his own personal priorities above a woman’s health and safety. Noam is pro-gun control while Astorino opposes it. Astorino also apposes Governor Cuomo’s ban on high capacity magazines and refuses to support expansion of background checks for private sellers at gun shows. Noam has been endorsed Congresswoman Nita Lowey and Congressman Eliot Engel and by the Scarsdale Inquirer and the Journal News.
