Scarsdale drinking water users were advised that water quality has not declined below the standard quality protocols for safe water. Routine testing has not detected any cryptosporidium levels in excess of what is allowed, the notice said.

The EPA has required the water district to add two independent ultraviolet water treatment plants in White Plains in order to more effectively address organisms such as cryptosporidium.
