• 34 Speed Cameras on 27 New York Roads This Week, 3 in CNY (wibx950.com) — Drivers in and around Schoharie should know a mobile work-zone speed camera is operating this week on I-88 eastbound near Exit 23, part of a statewide construction safety program. The cameras move weekly, mailing fines to speeding vehicle owners, with 34 units now deployed on 27 New York roads, including several in nearby counties.
• DEP marks centennial of NYC's Catskill water supply with completion of $568 million upgrade to historic Gilboa Dam (riverreporter.com) — A major, years-long upgrade to the Gilboa Dam at the Schoharie Reservoir has just been completed, marking 100 years of the Catskill water system that begins in Schoharie County. Local leaders say the $568 million project strengthens the dam, improves water-level control, and adds public amenities like a scenic overlook and restored landscape, while ensuring New York City’s water supply remains safe for the next century.
