• Hudson Valley Hike Turns Dangerous After Unexpected Allergy (newyorkstate.news) — A hiker suffered a serious allergic reaction on Wittenberg Mountain in the Town of Shandaken, prompting a coordinated response from Forest Rangers and Shandaken emergency crews. Rescuers reached the hiker on the trail, helped them safely down, and used the incident to highlight how easily tree nuts in trail mix can trigger life-threatening reactions for those with allergies.
