SHIRLEY, NY — Suffolk investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying the person or persons who abandoned a malnourished dog in Shirley on Aug. 24.
The mixed-breed female dog was discovered near Dawn Drive, and brought for medical attention, according to police.
The county District Attorney's Biological, Environmental, and Animal Safety Team, or BEAST Unit, is investigating, police said.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
