BMW Crashes Into Airport Fence, Flips; Driver Charged: Cops
The 19-year-old was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol after the rollover crash, police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — A Shirley teen was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol after he crashed his BMW Saturday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, Richard Cooney, 19, of Shirley, was charged with DWAI alcohol after he crashed, while driving a 2015 BMW, on Dawn Drive in Shirley at 9:10 p.m.

According to bystanders at the scene, the car flipped onto its roof after the driver reportedly lost control and crashed through the fencing of the Brookhaven Calabro Airport. Suffolk County Police, SCPD K-9 units, the Mastic Fire Department and Mastic Ambulance Co. reportedly responded to the scene.
