Brookhaven Town Cleans Up After Tropical Storm Sweeps Through
Town officials will offer residents a one-time-only collection of storm debris Monday.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN — Brookhaven Town will help residents socked by Tropical Storm Isaias by holding a one-time only bulk collection of storm debris beginning on Monday, August 10.
All debris must be placed at the curb by the evening of Sunday, August 9, officials said.
Branches, leaves and other vegetative debris from the storm should be brought curbside for bulk collection by town crews utilizing heavy equipment. Residents are asked not to put out any non-vegetative debris; storm debris mixed with household garbage or construction debris will not be picked up.

Brookhaven's Holtsville pool was closed Tuesday due to a power outage. All town beaches were open, but red flag conditions are still present at the Davis Park, Great Gun and Ho Hum beaches, limiting water access to knee deep wading only with no swimming.
