Chase Bank In Shirley Nearly Robbed: PD
The suspect, wearing a bright yellow sweatshirt, fled on foot northbound through the Popeye's Chicken parking lot, police said.

SHIRLEY, NY — Chase Bank in Shirley was nearly robbed on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Major Case Unit detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that took place at the bank, which is located on William Floyd Parkway, about 1:30 p.m.
The bank and its main parking lot were cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape while investigators were inside.

The man was described as white, in his mid 20s to early 30s, about five feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, and has with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a bright yellow sweatshirt and fled on foot northbound through the Popeye’s Chicken parking lot, toward Sunrise Highway.
Police did not release any further details about the attempted robbery.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the attempted robbery to call detectives at 631-852-6553 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
