Explosion Rocks Mastic Beach Building
Officials responded to the scene around 2:27 a.m. Thursday, where part of the building was left in rubble.

MASTIC, NY — An explosion brought down part of a building in Mastic Beach early Thursday morning,
Suffolk County Police said Seventh Precinct officers responded to a 911 report of a fire at Neighborhood Road and Diana Drive in Mastic Beach on Thursday at at 2:27 a.m.; the arson squad is investigating.
The Mastic Beach Fire Department said they and the Mastic Beach Ambulance Company responded to reports of a structure fire and explosion on Neighborhood Rd. and Diana Dr., the Mastic Beach FD said. "Upon arrival, no fire was reported but extensive damage was done to the diner."

Fire officials confirmed that there were no injuries.
Brookhaven Town fire marshals are also investigating, fire officials said.

Police said they cannot confirm any details regarding the explosion until after they speak with arson squad detectives.
