"As a family we have never witnessed a stronger, more determined person."

SHIRLEY, NY — A sea of caring angels has joined hands and hearts to help a local woman in need.

A GoFundMe page, "From Dusk Till Dawn," has been created by Alexis Kopel to help a Shirley woman who has touched countless lives.

"As we all know, Dawn is a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, aunt and friend," the page said. "Sometimes we all want a way to be able to help someone we love, and this is an outlet in which to help."

Dawn, the page said, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's diffuse large B-cell lymphoma one year ago and has been in and out of hospitals from Brookhaven to Manhattan, with surgery, blood transfusions, and PET scans a regular occurrence.

"Dawn is currently in the hospital and continuing to be a fighter," the page said. "As a family we have never witnessed a stronger, more determined person. No one ever wants to ask for help, but there could not be a more deserving person."
