Heartbroken Loved Ones Fundraising To Lay Woman To Rest

SHIRLEY, NY — After a woman lost her tireless fight against a debilitating disease, her loved ones are fundraising to lay her to rest.

A GoFundMe page, Maureen Cervone's Funeral, was created by her boyfriend Kevin Fox.

Cervone, he said, died on April 8, after an 18-year battle with polymyositis, a disease that attacks the muscles.

"She was so gentle, kind and loving. . . She fought a tough fight. She loved her family above everything else in this world and this GoFundMe will help pay for some of the funeral and cemetery expenses and support the family she cherished so much," he said.
