Little Girl, 10, Donates $800 In Birthday Money To Animal Shelter
A little girl with a big heart gave all her birthday money to help homeless animals recently.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN — A little girl with a big heart donated her birthday money to help animals in need.
Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine met with Isabelle Grucci-Peterson, 10, at the Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter and Adoption Center recently to accept a donation of $800 — Isabelle's birthday money, he said.
Isabelle, he said, asked guests who were invited to her birthday party to make a donation to the shelter instead of giving her a birthday present.

“I know that Isabelle’s family is very proud of her and we are thankful that she chose to make a donation to our animal shelter. Because of her generosity, our adoptable pets will have a better time in the shelter until they find their forever home," Romaine said.
To meet the shelter's adoptable dogs and cats, visit the Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For additional information, call 631-451-6950 or click here.
