BOOK SALE FOR LITERACY

Join us this Friday, 10/1 and Saturday, 10/2, for an Outdoor Sidewalk Sale and purchase books, music, movies, and more for the entire family! We will raffle an Amazon Fire HD8 tablet; tickets will be 1 for $3 or 2 for $5.

HAUNTED LIBRARY

Celebrate the season with spooks and scares at our first annual Haunted Library! Walk through a haunted house experience...if you dare, by taking a guided tour. Registration for families, teens, and adults begins on 10/1. Call 631-399-1511 ext. 365 for more information.

MMSCL, the mobile app for Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, lets you store your digital library card right on your phone. It also allows you to locate and search your library catalog wherever you are. THE GREAT GIVE BACK 2021

The Great Give Back is a countywide community service initiative that takes place every October. Join our library in giving back to our community this month through two events.

Great Give Back Food Drive
Friday, October 1 to Sunday, October 31

Please donate non-expired, nonperishable food to replenish a local food pantry. Collection bins are located throughout the library.

Great Halloween Costume Swap
Costume Donation Drop-off: 10/1-10/15

Costume Swap: Saturday, 10/16, early bird entry @ 10:00 AM-12:00 PM; open to all @ 12:00-2:00 PM

Donate clean, gently used costumes (all sizes welcome) to get a ticket to swap for a “new to you” costume, during early bird swapping hours on 10/16.

Don’t need a costume? You’re welcome to donate without an obligation to exchange.

Don’t have a costume to swap? Come in on 10/16 from 12:00-2:00 PM to pick one out after ticket holders have swapped. While supplies last.

American Dirt Book Discussion

American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins, is a story following Lydia, a bookstore owner, who flees Acapulco for America, with her young son, after a drug cartel violently attacks a quinceañera she's attending, killing her journalist husband.
