Motorcyclist Struck By Pickup, Injured In Shirley: Suffolk PD

The person was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of "non-life threatening injuries," police said.

SHIRLEY, NY — Part of Moriches-Middle Island Road in Shirley was shut down Saturday night while Suffolk police investigated crash involving a motorcyclist and pickup truck.

The motorcyclist was struck by the pickup at about 6:11 p.m., police said, adding that the person was then taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of “non-life threatening injuries.”

The man who was injured disputed the police account of his injuries and told Patch that he sustained life-threatening injuries and needed to be airlifted to the hospital.

No one else was injured in the crash, police said.
