Police Seek Info On Hate Graffiti On Mastic Business

MASTIC, NY — Suffolk police are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the man they say wrote graffiti on a Mastic business earlier this year.

Police say the man wrote “racially insensitive wording against Black and Hispanic people” on a garage door at AIA Tire Center on Montauk Highway on March 12 at just before 9 p.m. The investigation is continuing with the Hate Crimes Unit, police said. No further details were released by the police.

Suffolk’s Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers by submitting an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, a confidential police hotline, or by using utilizing a mobile app, which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips.
