Tiny Kitten, Hercules, Needs Help To Live

Watch a video here that's sure to melt your heart. And here's how to help little Hercules in his fight for life.

SHIRLEY, NY — A tiny kitten has captured hearts in his valiant fight for survival.

A GoFundMe page, "A Fighter for Life . . .A Hercules Story," was created by Janet Rivera-Orlando in Shirley to help.

Hercules was found on Nov. 14, 2018 "by a very sweet couple. Abandoned and alone, he fought to find help," she said. The couple contacted Rivera-Orlando and her friend Sally and they agreed they needed to do what they could for the tiny warrior.

"We took the little guy and wrapped him immediately in love and warmth," Rivera-Orlando wrote. "We had no clue how serious his injuries were until we took a closer look."

Both of his back legs were totally misaligned. "To say we were shocked is an understatement. How, how did this poor baby survive this long without help?" she wrote.

On Nov. 15, their "tough little man Hercules" was brought to a vet for an evaluation, she said.

"Our fears grew. Not only did he have a shattered pelvis but he had rocks in his little tummy. The vet wants to do corrective surgery in a few weeks, being he is too young, in hopes to save both back legs," she wrote.

The surgery, she said, will cost well over $3,000 and close to $5,000, she said.

"As can you see from the video, he just wants to be loved, played with and most importantly, to live," she wrote.

"Please find it in your hearts to please share and donate," Rivera-Orlando said. "With love, Hercules and his fighting team."
