Accompsett Students Get an Up-Close Lesson on Fire Safety

FDNY firefighter John Bandl recently visited Accompsett Middle School in the Smithtown School District to speak with Ms. Nolan’s seventh-grade health elective students.

Referencing his experience as an emergency responder, Bandl (pictured above) stressed the importance of fire safety and wearing seat belts. Bandl also donned his personal protective equipment, demonstrated the safety features of his self-contained breathing apparatus and answered all of the students’ questions. October is National Fire Prevention Month.
