Award Goes to Smithtown Troop 888 Leader
Greg Caporale, Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 888, receives Spark Plug Award
Congratulations goes to Greg Caporale of Smithtown/Nesconset Boy Scout Troop 888. On Saturday May 2, 2015, Greg was a recipient of the Benjamin Tallmadge District Spark Plug Award. According to District leadership, the purpose of the “SPARK PLUG” award is to recognize someone who is new to the troop and has brought life back or added “spark”. Greg, the former Cubmaster of Pack 326, recently joined Troop 888 as an Assistant Scoutmaster upon his youngest son Nick’s crossover from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. Greg’s other family members are very involved in scouting as well. His older son Alex was elected this year as the senior patrol leader and his wife, Paula, serves on the Troop Committee as the Advancements representative. Nominated by his peers and selected for the award, Greg celebrated with friends and family at the ceremony this past weekend. Pictured from left to right with Greg are other troop leaders including Jeff Perciavalle, John Broome, Greg Caporale and Barry Carlsen. The troop thanked Greg for all that he does!
