'Ball Of Constant Affection' Alabama: Smithtown Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Alabama, a 5-year-old female domestic shorthair, was found living in a wheel well. She loves to chirp and get attention.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Alabama, a 5-year-old female domestic shorthair, is the Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pet of the Week.
The outgoing cat was found living in a wheel well, according to the shelter.
"Alabama is a ball of constant affection and is very vocal," the shelter wrote. "She loves to chirp and try to get some attention. Alabama is always staying active, doing figure eights around your ankles and keeping herself mobile. She has elevated third eyelids that do not require medication and seem to not cause her any issues. Alabama can be unsure around other cats, but should get along with feline companions that open up their hearts to her. We can’t wait for Alabama to find her own sweet home."

The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers and kennel attendants at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
The shelter is also seeking foster volunteers. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for an extended time.
