JWG's Grand Hodgepodge — Passengers & Spare Moments (2 poems)
Wherein JWG learns to laugh at the foibles we endure as we move to another space.
57. Passengers
Passengers
Have to be patient at the waiting game.
One must be early.
Being on time helps
To be stress-free of travelling hassles.
Thinking one is late is not.

In watching latecomers run,
One has to wonder why they are so late?
Did they oversleep? Did they forget?
Does it really matter what we think?
Imagining what others are doing
Occupies one’s mind off of one’s own future.

When one visualizes
The destination, hopefully, most times,
Excitement and peace will calm one down.
Stress before the end
Is looked back on as the comic drama
In which we were the players.
We must laugh
At the foibles we endure as we move
To another space.
58. Spare Moments
Spare Moments
To sit emptying one’s mind don’t suffice
When one’s thoughts are sad.
Sadness makes me mad.
Actress Joan Blondell used to time sadness
To just a few, short minutes.
Staring at the second hand
Is sufficient to rid one’s depression
When releasing mental storms and slush.
Clearing one’s mind to rid the obscure,
Frightening elements that create fog
Underneath a crystalline, blue atmosphere.
Oxygen makes us breathe true.
Carbon dioxide makes breathing harder.
Water for sustenance has merits.
When we’re panicking,
We have to breathe deeply and drink water.
We have to nourish the brain.
Don’t forget:
Remember we have to learn from anguish.
We have to be strong.
