JWG's Grand Hodgepodge — Roosters Wait & Carrying (2 poems)
Wherein JWG reveals opening thoughts to reality is best.
75. Roosters Wait
Roosters wait
Patiently outside the household’s glass door
Looking for handouts.
These clever Bantams
Have trained their owners to have bread ready.
The Roosters gobble it down.

If raisin bread can be had,
It garners clucking sounds of approval.
The fruit is a feast of thanksgiving.
Very rarely do the Roosters sit.
They are always on their feet looking in.
Each movement in the house makes them excited.
Find out what's happening in Smithtownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
They do have water and grain
To sip and peck at whenever they wish.
It is evident they like “dessert”.
The resident dogs
Don’t spook these birds that are always present.
The animals get along.
Friendliness
Comes in many guises which satisfies
All the Residents.
76. Carrying
Carrying
Luggage may not be always physical;
It can be mental.
Carefully packing
Essentials takes up a great deal of room.
Little things can be forgot.
Secrets are never forgot.
They are the burdensome weight we endure.
The secrets we share are dangerous.
Looking up minds is not possible
To maintain and retain good, conscious health.
Opening thoughts to reality is best.
Dark secrets can’t be ignored.
They fester and grow and eat at one’s brain.
They are the bombs of insanity.
Releasing secrets
Eases the heavy load we have carried,
Even if told to the wind.
Heaviness
Determined by the personal psyche
Cannot be denied.
