32. Walt Disney

Walt Disney
Was an eccentric with artistic flair.
He imagined Worlds.

Think outside the box.
Light up faces with hand-drawn characters
Which were us personified.

Foibles were given freedom.
A triumph of linear creation,
Each line had a specific purpose.

When pictures were projected on screens,
The drawings came to life and made us laugh.
Some made us cry. Some were quite terrifying.

He autographed the postcard
I sent to him and sent it back to me.
I framed it. It now hangs on my wall.

Signature as art,
Exemplified by a certain flourish,
Makes an excellent display.

Never mind
The Lands of Fantasy we all visit
When we need a smile.

33. Foliage

Foliage
Costumes Nature’s stage with variety
For the Audience.

Not many dramas
Use clothing to be used as scenery.
Vegetation is handy.

The theatricality
Of greenery keeps the action moving
In seasons with no intermissions.

Certain leafage takes a holiday.
Their understudy is the Conifers
Who have the strength, and the presence, to excel.

Verdurous multi-tasking
Keeps Spectators watching and listening
Through the harshest of weather displays.

In the quiet calm,
Intense staring at the bucolic scene
Rewards Nature’s finery.

Finales
Are not known in this ongoing show of
Constant beginnings.
