TOWN OF SMITHTOWN, NY — Voters in Suffolk County will head to the polls Nov. 5 to cast their ballots for Smithtown Town Council, where they will choose from Thomas Lohmann, Lisa Inzerillo, Richard Guttman and Richard Macellaro.
Patch reached out to all candidates to hear where they stand on important issues affecting the community.

- Family: Wife Jane, son Thomas (wife Christina), daughter Jennifer, Amanda (husband Cole), and grandchildren Kayleigh and Thomas.
- Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?: Son Thomas Lohmann, Smithtown Public Safety.
- Education: Associate Degree Criminal Justice
- Occupation: Retired NYPD Detective after a 20-year career, followed by a 13-year career with the National Insurance Crime Bureau, Northeast Regional Director, and two years with the Suffolk County District Attorney's office as a Criminal Investigator.

"Completing the Town's Comprehensive Master Plan, which was started late last year. We will continue to work with H2M Engineering, the firm the Town hired to prepare the Master Plan. Our Town Planning Department and Public Information officer will continue to engage our residents, and keep them informed and updated as the plan develops."
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
"Unknown as they have not disseminated any information as to what they plan on doing if/when elected to office."
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
"Continue to work on the issues I believe are critical to a successful local government, develop a Town Comprehensive Master Plan inclusive of our residents and businesses owners' input, work towards the installation of sewers in our business districts, government transparency, rebuild/upgrade our parks, beaches, and infrastructure, and continue to work full-time as Town Councilman."
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
"My decorated 20-year career with the New York City Police Department, and decorated 13-year career with the National Insurance Crime Bureau."
The best advice ever shared with me was...
"Never stop learning and growing as a person, and always gather the facts first before you act."
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
"I am a hard working person that puts others before myself, and if elected, I promise to continue to represent and serve the residents of Smithtown with honor and integrity."
