Car Completely Crashes Through Smithtown CVS, Driver Trapped

SMITHTOWN, NY — A car crashed through the wall of a CVS in Smithtown on Tuesday evening, according to Rick Torre, P.I.O. of Smithtown Fire Department. The driver was pinned inside the car as a result.
The Smithtown Fire Department responded to the CVS at 111 Terry Road, just north of Route 347, at 5:36 p.m. to see the car fully inside the building. The driver was freed and treated for minor injuries before being brought to Stony Brook Hospital by Smithtown FD Ambulance.
No arrests were made, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

Smithtown FD members took care of any hazards. The Town Building Department and Fire Marshal were called to determine the structural stability of the CVS.
The crash scene was under control by 6 p.m.
