The historic Long Island business was recently featured in Onlyinyourstate.com.

ST. JAMES, NY - A St. James business was featured in an article on Onlyinyourstate.com in an article titled "the charming general store that's been open since before the Civil War."

The website gave a shout out to the St. James General Store, located on 516 Moriches Road, which first opened by Ebenezer Smith in 1857.

"Nowadays it feels as though technology has taken over most aspects of life, with many New Yorkers heading to the internet to do their shopping as opposed to visiting an actual store," the article reads. "With that said, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of us who love to actually go shopping and visit our quaint small town stores and Main Streets."
